This is the last tag of the 12 tags of 2016! Can't believe that another year has passed. I'm so glad that Tim does the tags every year, and hopefully he will continue this tradition next year. It's been a blast! The mixing of techniques from previous tag is such a great idea. Love to mix and match them. This months tag also has fabulous techniques.
Collaging isn't really my thing, because I'm just not good at it, but I love to challenge myself a bit, and this tag has given me one. I chose different colors, I chose the blue wintery color scheme.
Even on burlap Distress Crayons, works I'm totally impressed with this product. For me it's the product of 2016! I need to use more colors, and experiment with more techniques. That is a challenge for 2017!

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Let There Be Snow". Christmas is just around the corner!
Today I made not one but two cards and both with video! The first Christmas card is based on the knitted Christmas sweater and for that I've used many different washi tape. Even glitter washi. After I had adhered all washi I distressed all the edges with Distress Crayon Black Soot for more interest. I mixed Texture Paste with Pale Silver Mica Powder, and used the Snowflakes stencil to make the snowflakes as part of the knitted sweater. I found that they blended to much into the background so I went over the snowflakes with Opal Magic Rose Gold Paint. When everything was dry I went around all the edges of the snowflakes with Black Soot Distress Reinker and waterbrush.

The second card is a more elegant Christmas card and I gave this card also my color palette for this Christmas: black, white and gold. First I made a background on black cardstock with the Holiday Type stamp set and SSS White Pigment Ink. Only to the edges need to be inked. The next step was to give the edges of the metallic cardstock a little more depth and I did that with Opal Magic Rose Gold Paint. For the top layer I've stamped the Stripes stamp with SSS White Pigment Ink on black cardstock.
The snowflake I used as a focal point is the SSS Eliza Snowflake die (Marzena thanks!), Of which I have distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Crayon. On all four corners of the card I placed a gold sequin.

As a Christmas present, I made a gift card holder. This Christmas I have a color theme: black, white and gold. First I cut the black cardstock to size (8 x 23.5 cm) and scored it at 8 and 10 cm. The edges of the flap, I rounded with the Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper. All the edges got some Opal Magic Alchemy Paint Rose Gold. And I used Black Soot Distress Crayon on them.
Pattern papers and me aren't the best match, but I love an oldy: Meadow Lark, a very cool black and white paper pad. Perfect for covering this gift card holder with it. Those edges got some Black Soot Distress Crayon too. With Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink and the Holiday type stamp I made my own pattern paper.
On the flap I've used a Stitched Oval (Thanks Barbara!) On top of the oval I cut some black cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Wishing die. To give the Stitched Oval a subtle background I've stamped with the Stripes stamp and Simon Says Stamp Ink Fog.

I chose a very colorful palette of colors, because I wanted to use the beautiful botanical rubs. I love the spring and summer and I was inspired by a beautiful warm sunny day in Paris. I had trouble with the rubs, because if I accidentally touched with the sheet on the already applied rubs, and I pulled it back some of the rub came off in certain places. But I love the look it gave me. An additional distressed look.
